- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix)
- Toppings of your choice:
- Sliced vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives)
- Proteins (pepperoni, cooked chicken, sausage, etc.)
- Fresh herbs (basil, oregano)
- Olive oil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven or toaster oven:
Set it to 375°F (190°C). If you prefer a crispier crust, go up to 400°F (200°C). - Prepare the pita base:
- Place the pita bread on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Lightly brush the top with olive oil (optional) to help it crisp up.
- Add sauce:
- Spread 2–3 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly over the pita.
- Add cheese:
- Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded cheese on top of the sauce.
- Layer toppings:
- Add your desired toppings evenly over the cheese. Avoid overloading, as this can make the pita soggy.
- Bake:
- Place the prepared pita pizza in the oven and bake for 8–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
- Cool and serve:
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Slice into wedges or enjoy whole.
